Be careful what you wish for.

Thanks [livejournal.com profile] vicar!

Much to say regarding this weekend which will be said later. Busy day at work is a great cure for self absorbed angst...

Friday's gig was reasonably well attended and the bands sounded great, Voices of Masada in particular were as good as I've ever seen them and the crowd loved them. Attrition as well sounded fab for their comeback show, I loved Martin's use of multiple incense sticks to replicate the effect of the forbidden smoke machine. Christine's new alto incarnation was a surprise but not an ill-advised one as it led to a better integration of her voice with Martin's. Alas there wasn't much interest in sticking around and dancing after the bands. Went into, ahem, a far shallower hole than at the Antiworld show... big thanks to [livejournal.com profile] sinbadsilk for giving me a ride home and saving me the cab fare, which means I can rationalise Friday's loss as the cost of a just-after-payday night out.

Would have been nice to have had more people though... I guess I was right all along, Thursday is the best night for a gig because nothing else is on.

Thanks to:
- Martin Oldgoth and Paul Ramsterhat for DJing
- Caroline and [livejournal.com profile] barbedwirekiss for handling the money taking and tough-looking-dude duties at the door
- Excession, VoM and Attrition for a marvellous, well-put-together show
- [livejournal.com profile] mock2 for afterpartyage
- and of course the punters who showed up!

Setlisty goodness here

Whew... now a little break til the Last Dance gig in October... with only a few DJ dates in between!
