Strength Through Joy presents a live solo show by JARED LOUCHE (Chemlab)!

Jared describes his act as: "a mixture of songs and stories viewed through the chipped glass darkly, a lurching ride on the rock'n'rollercoaster of my life, it's apocalyptic-lounge with shreds of
Machine Rock, Noise-blur and Robot-Dance.
I'm the singer/conceptualist for Machine Rock band CHEMLAB and electro-noise group h3llb3nt.
My solo show's been described as Iggy Pop and Leonard Cohen hacking the
mainframe."

The performance will take place at approximately 11pm* as part of Strength Through Joy - London's premier Old-School Industrial event. Upstairs at The Garage, Highbury Corner, London UK. Open 9pm to 3am, admission £6 or £5 with a flyer.

*So that people will have time to head down after Gotham VI at the Islington Academy.

Other events of note

- Tonight: Electro punk rockers History Of Guns at the Purple Turtle.

- Tomorrow night: If you can't get enough Attrition (and who can?) or can't be arsed to get to Gotham at 6 pm, they are playing along with Mist of Avalon at Madam Jo Jo's, at The Glitz. IT'S FREE with a ticket to Gotham VI! (£6 without)

- Saturday: Gotham VI of course. I will probably be there around 6 so as not to miss Attrition and Ghost of Lemora... four killer bands to top out the festival this year, should be a good one!

Also next Friday 3rd June, I am DJing at Club Wicked's 3rd Birthday Party at Club Crash in Vauxhall. I have some half price (£15) tickets available so if you want to go just ask me! (Yes, it's a fetish club -- and it goes on til 6am so you can even go to Dead & Buried first.)

Errata

Well I have so much TOIL (time off in lieu -- basically overtime that is paid in time off rather than cashola) they are making me take tomorrow afternoon off. Boo hoo. (I will spend it making flyers, no rest for the wicked!)

A few news items:

- Apparently Neville Wells of Batcave has been convicted of second degree murder for killing someone in a drunk driving accident. (Thanks bootpunk for the info) Stories here and here, complete with oh so scary photo. They seem to be making an example of him. He may be in prison for 25 years. Let that be a lesson to all of us who drink and drive!

- New Orleans has won the bid for Convergence 12, alas you can't see their proposal anymore, official announcement here. Sorry minusbat, no Convergence for you! (Damn, I wanted to go to Vancouver. Maybe I still will.)
